The Clean Build


Welcome to the long awaited Build 12! This is one of our cleanest Builds yet! Ton of new progress. Read to the bottom please!

-Cleaner Nate sprites along with a lot of improved sprites for a lot of things in the game. (Including better Nate haircut sprites and uniforms!)

-New Main Menu and altered Main Menu UI.

-I added a Rules Menu for good boys. (This should technically be the Main Menu addition.)

-The Main Menu now forces you to read the Rules Menu and implies that you should read the Controls Menu along with many other things. (This should technically be marked in the Main Menu addition.)

-I added an unfinished Wiki Menu, which is below and reveals the mystery girl from Build 11. (This should technically be marked in the Main Menu addition.)

-I added a Donate Menu. (This should technically be marked in the Main Menu addition.)

-I changed the Credits Menu. (This should technically be marked in the Main Menu addition.)

-Bigger space and better lighting for Nate's daily Outside activities, including Roll Call (Which will probably also have Cell toss and random searches in the same Build.) which I have yet to add.

-I changed the Dialog and a lot of other writing and made things sound more realistic and changed Dialog options. I also removed Benji's task temporarily.

-I fixed volume.

-I fixed the Pause Menu bugs.

-I worked on a Day/Night cycle, I plan to use this and also have days of the weeks in the game before I try implementing a weather system.

-I fixed bugs with colliders and using different items from Jake's shops, which also have a lot more information.

-You can now do Levi’s task.

-Working on changing the Easter Eggs.

-Discord Rich Presence is now available on this Build and future Builds with statuses for what you're doing in the game. (I need to test this.)

-I'm applying Stark Penitentiary to Twitch and YouTube.

-I worked on Official Twitch Game Cover Art, which is below.

-Bird of Wisdom doesn't play his annoying cooing sound anymore although I might only have it play when Nate or Bird of Wisdom is near his area in Nate's cell. (I should also give reasons as to how Nate gets him. I've thought about it before.) I’ve also removed a lot of the other temporary sounds I had added in Build 11.

-I improved the Intro "Cutscenes." (Just like the new Back and Skip buttons.)

-Added Solitary. (I have yet to work on Psych.)

-I marked the game as Windows and Linux. I'm sure it works on Windows because that's what I made it for, but I think it also works on Linux. It probably won't work on Macs.

-New Music. (I also need to add the fixed Credits Menu Music, but it's getting closer to what I imagine.)

-More new Art. (This is shown in a lot of new additions.)

-I added a new mystery character who takes a huge spot in the game's story.

-I worked on members of a new Cell.

-More area of the prison to explore.

-Collider changes? (Probably. I think this is the Build that I changed Nate's Colliders to Polygon 2D Colliders, but it definitely has it now.)

-Going in UI will not freeze time. (Other than pausing, obviously.)

-Many other UI changes. (Like new UI for locations around the prison or changes to the camera filter when speeding up time.)

-New Controls? (Zooming out has been changed.)

-I updated to Unity 2021.1.13f41! (I think I did it this Build. It definitely has it now.)

-I worked on and planned a bunch of things that I can't show you just yet. (Those who know, SHUSH!)

-I changed the preview images to make it more current.

-Other things you can probably figure out yourself. (Like the screwdriver being moved.)

-A much cleaner game. Enjoy!


I have to be more organized. Unlike me, my game shouldn't have very many bugs now and should be very nice. I hope I didn't forget anything but this is taking up a lot of my time but I've been talking to many people about my visions for the game. Hopefully soon searching "Stark Penitentiary" online will show up with my game instead of making you write "Stark Penitentiary Game" and then it should be easier to find, but I'm trying to incorporate social media into the game so it's easier to find. I want to make moving and using your inventory a bit more Hitman styled. Here are some of the links/images to things that I mentioned.
